About

Treasure in earthen vessels.

Our name comes from vessel. Every person is one, already filled with precious things. The Foundation exists to remind people of that, and to help them fulfil their days.

Mission

Sustain and extend the mission of VICS.

The school champions the cause of developing children’s potential, for themselves and for others, with respect. The Foundation makes that possible, keeps it affordable and carries it beyond Kopodor.

Vision

A guaranteed pathway to success, for everyone, from childhood.

An enabling environment where people discover their worth, lead society and show respect for all, whatever their family can pay.

The story

From a fashion school in 2018 to a foundation.

In 2018 the Veccel School of Fashion opened as a vocational institution, equipping students with the skills to start a business, find work or continue their education. One lesson kept repeating: skills alone are not enough. People also need integrity, respect, the chance to develop their other talents, and wide exposure to the world so they can think critically and fit in anywhere.

Those lessons became two organisations. VICS provides education and training to global standards. The Veccel Foundation exists to support that mission, to sustain it, and to extend its impact wherever it can reach.

“We have this treasure in earthen vessels.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7

Values

Four words we fund, hire and report by.

Excellence

The mission allows no compromise, in the school we fund or in how we run the Foundation.

Integrity

Honest work, honest results, honest reporting to donors, partners and families.

Respect

For every person, culture and faith. No bias on the basis of religion, gender, race or disability.

Service

Abilities are developed for oneself and for one’s neighbours. That is the point of the treasure.

Board

Educators and builders.

Educationists, serial entrepreneurs and people who believe in the mission, serving in different capacities to give VICS and the Foundation direction.

Governance and reporting

Competent, balanced and transparent.

A balanced board governs both organisations. Donors and partners receive periodic impact and financial reports; the scholarship ratio and the number of beneficiaries each year are tracked as key indicators, and independent external observers are invited to assess outcomes.

Non-discrimination. Under no circumstance is there room for bias on the basis of religion, gender, race, disability or any other form of discrimination, in who we fund, who we employ or who we serve.

Reserves and allocation. Gifts directed to a programme are spent on that programme. The general fund is allocated by the board each term and reported.

The school

One mission, two organisations.

Veccel International Community School is a mission-driven international school on four acres at Kopodor, Ningo-Prampram: early years from 18 months, a Cambridge pathway from Grade 1, IB World School authorisation pursued from Phase 3, classes of 25 or fewer, boarding for middle and high school, and up to 40% of students on scholarship.

Questions

Asked often.

Is the Foundation the same as the school?

No. Veccel International Community School (VICS) is a company limited by liability that runs the school. The Veccel Foundation is a separate organisation that exists solely to support the school’s vision and mission: it subsidises operations, funds scholarships and infrastructure, and extends the impact to the community.

Where does the money go?

Into the five programmes: scholarships, school support, community impact, skills and talent, and teacher excellence. You can direct a gift to one of them or to the general fund. Periodic reports show where it went.

Is the Foundation registered?

Registration is in progress alongside the school’s incorporation. We will publish the registration details and charitable status here as soon as they are confirmed. TODO: registration number and date.

Can I visit?
